Prestige Sun Control

While vital to our existence and essential for the perfect getaway vacation, the sun can wreak havoc on your furnishings, cause unwanted glare, and drive your air-conditioning costs through the roof.

Since its creation by 3M Company in 1966, sun control window films have addressed these solar problems. But not until recently has a manufacturer been able to make a virtually invisible window film that blocks up to 97% of the sun's infrared heat. (Infrared heat is the heat that you feel.) Made with nano-technology, 3M's Prestige Sun Control Window Films can increase your personal comfort, lower your cooling costs, and preserve the useful life of your furnishings – all with minimal change to the appearance of your home's or office's windows.

Prestige Window Film is almost invisible yet rejects up to 97% of the sun's infrared heat.

Higher energy costs are here to stay as China's and India's energy consumption is on the rise. Energy conservation will yet again be a way of life, reminiscent of the 1970's. Studies have been done to calculate the energy savings associated with the installation of 3M Sun Control Window Film. In many large office buildings, those savings pay for the window film installation in less than three years.

3M Company has partnered with the Department of Energy to create a software application that takes variables specific to your building to estimate a prospective window film project's payback. Moreover, 3M's Data Loggers can track temperatures at specified intervals to show how temperatures decrease after the installation of 3M film.
